The Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT) has fully constituted its Independent Advisory Committee (IAC) as part of its new  organizational structure announced in 2019.

The IAC consists of 21 members, including representatives from seven governments, two international organizations, and 12 civil society organizations (CSO), representing a range of expertise. CSO specialties include counter terrorism and countering violent extremism non-governmental organizations, digital and human rights groups, foundations, and academics.

The governments represented on the IAC are Canada, France, Ghana, Japan, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The European Union and the United Nations Counter Terrorism Executive Directorate are the two international organizations on the IAC. Civil society representatives come from four continents and eight countries.

We will be sharing additional details about the make-up of the IAC in advance of the group's first meeting later this month.
