Dear Ghayda,
As your tenure as Chair of the Independent Advisory Committee (IAC) comes to a close, the GIFCT team and Operating Board would like to express their sincere gratitude for your role in providing leadership and coordinating the IAC over the past three years.
You have played an instrumental role, first as a founding member of the IAC and then as its Chair, in laying the IAC’s foundational structures and establishing policies and procedures for its advisory role.
We value our relationship with the IAC and its purpose, to provide strategic, substantive advice in support of our mission. In this regard, the IAC has a key role to play in fostering multistakeholder engagement and advancing understanding of terrorism and violent extremism, as well as their evolution. We look forward to continued collaboration and engagement with the IAC as we work collectively to prevent terrorists and violent extremists from exploiting digital platforms.
